We are a new “military family”. My son left for basic training just 1 week ago. He has 8 more weeks of basic training, the Officer Candidate School and advanced training.
I have been researching military flags to hang outside my home to honor not only my son but all those who serve in all branches of Military Service.
You’re willingness to supply a Service Flag to families really touched my heart. You are the first site I have found that has said ‘thank you for serving’. Kudos to Grantham University.
If I or anyone in my household was considering additional degrees, I definetely would look into the university. If this is an example of the care and concern the university has for those who serve, their educational programming MUST be on the individual student as well, not just on graduating “numbers” of students.
I would truely love to have one of these to help me honor my Grandfather who was a LTC pilot and a pow. He has passed on now but his memory will live on in me forever and beyond.
Thanks you for my considerations.
I just wanted to let you know that we do make a custom flag for veterans. We include first and last name on banner, then the blue star. Below the blue star we then inclued WWII, Korea, Viet Nam. These are the same cost as standard blue star flags. Thanks Dave and Wendy England daveengland@hotmail.com
I think this is a wonderful program, and should I win one, I would like to donate it to all servicemen and women who proudly serve our country. I am a member of the Bath, NY Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and will donate the Blue Star Flag to our organization in honor of all who serve. Thank you for doing this.
This is a great program that you are doing. If I was to win it it would become a passed dpowm family keepsake of out family being in the military. My father was in the nNavy, I have over 23 years in the Navy Reserves and I am presently deployed to the mid east and last week my oldest daughter enlisted in the Navy. Thank you again for all the support you have given to the present and former military personnel.

If I were to win a flag It would replace the very faded one I have hanging in the front window in honor of my son that is serving in the army and in honor of all of our service men and women past and present.
I just wanted to thank you for all you do in honor of our servicemen & women. Should I be blessed to be selected I couldn’t think of a more precious gift to present to my young Marine before he deploys again, and to display for him until he returns. God Bless our troops
My son served in the Army for seven years. Thankfully he returned home safely after 2 years in Iraq.I live in the home town of the original Stars and stripes Newspaper…Bloomfield, Missouri. My 25 years in the Navy and my serving in Iraq in 2003 pales in comparison to the hardships and sacrifice my dad’s brothers endured during their fighting in Germany during WWII. Thank you for all you do, especially your program to help bring awareness and remembrance for all our veterans, both past and present.
The flag is beautiful! My husband is currently deployed and I would love to have a blue star flag for his return home. My God bless all of our troops – past and present!
My 22 year old son is currently serving with the 82nd airborne division in southern Afganistan. Its been a very difficult time for him and for us here at home since he left in 09. It would be a great honor for his mother and I to be able to display this Blue Star flag as a daily reminder to all that see it of the sacrifice he is making everyday and the great risk to his life he is faced with daily. I served 25 years in the military and know all too well the hardship he has indured and the ones yet to come. We must never forget the sacrifice of these great young men and women. During this weekend please take a moment to remember the Gold Star families and their loved ones that gave the ultimate price for the freedom we share today. “All gave some, Some gave ALL”.

My youngest son is a member of the Army National Guard. He spent a year in Iraq, leaving his wonderful wife and three children, the youngest a year old. He spent three years in the
regular Army and then signed up for the Guards. He is now an Active Guard, working for them
full time. He joined the Army at 17 and I have been proud of him for his dedication every day since. My original Blue Star Flag got lost in a move and replacing it with this one would be an honor.
Happy Memorial Day to all our heros, and thank you.
This is wonderful and things like this always bring tears to my eyes.
My son served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and did 2 tours in Iraq Freedom.
His unit now has orders scheduled for Afghanistan in 2011.
It would be a privilage to have one of these Blue Star Flags, which I plan to give to my grandson. Who was very concerned about his dad and had a ruff time in school during these deployments.
My son is with the 82nd Airbourne Division and is currently in Afghanistan. I would love to have this flag to give to him when he comes home. I think this is a wonderful thing you are doing for our troops and their families. Thank you and God Bless

We have been blessed by finding Grantham University and their Blue Star Program.
We have made it our mission to deliver as many banners as we can in our area. We are a small group with limited funds. We couldn’t even begin to do this without Grantham.
So far we have delivered over 100 Blue Stars and, unfortunately one Gold Star. As Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders, we have nothing but praise and prayers for the University.
I have received one of your awesome flags for my grandson. I would like to get one for his wife who is also in the Air Force. They are both stationed in Japan at present and will both be deployed in the near future. His flag is by his picture. Her flag would be placed by her picture. My husband was in the Navy and my father who has now passed on was in the Air Force and my brother was in the Army. My husbands brother was in the Air Force and his father was in the Army. Serving ones country is a very brave and honorable profession.

My daughter just returned home from Iraq her 2nd tour, which army flag do i use. one star or two star?
Janice,
The appropriate flag to honor one service member is a one star flag.
Can I still display my blue star if my son is still active, but not currently deployed? Or is it only displayed during deployments?
