Frequently Asked Questions Q: How long will it take to receive my flag? Can I contact someone regarding my order?
A: We recently made some enhancements to our fulfillment system and our turnaround time is now 4-6 weeks. In most instances, you will receive your order within a one month period. This is a marked improvement and we are always looking for new ways to optimize our fulfillment system as we know these flags reflect your support and dedication of your loved one’s dedication to our country. Our team is dedicated to responding to all user inquiries regarding any existing orders, so if you have not received your flag or have any questions about your order, please contact us at support@mybluestarflag.com or 800-955-2527, and we will get back to you in a timely manner.
Q: Can I get a flag with more than one star on it? Do you offer any other flags?
A: At this stage, we only offer a single star flag, but we can recommend some sites that offer a broader variety of Blue Star Flags:
- Dave's Quilts: A veteran and expert quilt maker, Dave England is an exceptional talent and he can do any type of custom embroidered flag. We strongly recommend him and you can view his work here: http://www.davesquilts.com.
- American Legion: Most local chapters offer Blue Star Flags at a marginal cost. Check your local chapter or visit their main site for details: http://www.legion.org/troops/bluestar
- ServiceFlags.com: A family-owned business with a broad collection of flags and products. Their flags can be viewed here: http://www.serviceflags.com/serviceflags.htm/
Q: Are these flags limited to just military families? Can I show my support for my neighbor who is serving?
A: This is a common request as the Blue Star Flag was first established by an Army captain who designed the flag in support of his two sons and the flag has traditionally been reserved for military families. However, we live in a changing world where support has no boundaries as we have seen neighbors, teachers, store owners and other supporters proudly displaying their flags in support of our troops. To illustrate, we received a request from a barber in New Jersey who wanted flags to display in his store to show his support for his customers, most of whom were either serving or had a loved one serving our country. While he did not have an immediate family member serving our country, he was not only showing his support but was also raising awareness of the Blue Star Flag and all that it represents. So, as long as these flags are properly displayed and treated as a symbol of honor, respect and support, we have no problem with giving them out to all supporters, regardless of their military background and/or affiliation.
Q: Do I have to be enrolled as a student at Grantham University to receive a flag?
A: No. Since our program launched in 2006, we have stood by our mission to provide everyone with a free Blue Star Flag regardless of their interest in the University. So, you DO NOT need to show an interest in or enroll in the University to receive a free flag.
Q: I want to order more than one flag - is this possible?
A: Yes, we currently work with organizations and military support groups to provide bulk orders of Blue Star Flags. Whether it’s a deployment or community gathering, we cannot think of a better way to support our troops while raising awareness of the Blue Star Flag program. To apply for a bulk order, please complete the form on this page and we will review it. If approved, you will be contacted to discuss the details and verify the information. There are no associated costs for bulk shipments and it takes approximately 2-3 weeks to process, but we can work with your schedule.
Q: How are the flags packaged and shipped and do I have to pay for shipping?
A: All flags are wrapped in a clear plastic bag and placed in a cardboard tube. They are shipped via USPS and there are no associated costs for shipping.
