Thank you for this offer. When it arrives at my mothers home she’ll be surprised and happy to receive it. My dad was in the Air Force and passed away May 2009. We buried his ashes last Fathers Day (2010) weekend at the gravesite of my grandparents, this will be such a nice way for him to be remembered for his time he served his country.

My fiance just left April 13th for Afghanistan. I have even asked my family members to retrieve their blue flags from Grantham because it’s a great way to let others know that we have a loved one serving overseas! Our 19 year old son has just signed and sworn in to the United States Navy. As a mother I’m so very proud, but also just as scared. This will be the first time he’s left home and it will be hard to see him go, but what he has decided to do is such an amazing sacrifice that so many of our sons and daughters make every day. I know just what you’re feeling. I’m now 81 yrs old. Been there before and now my granddaughter, Ashley, is in the Air Force. She signed on straight out of high school; that was 12 yrs ago. She’s staying for as long as it takes. She just returned from Qatar earlier this year. Our family has had folks in service since 1777. Yes we worry, but we also wear our tears with hearts filled with pride. To S/Sgt Ashley and all of the rest of our ladies & gentlemen of the United States of America services: RESPECT!!! I ordered the flag for my 91 year old dad who is a WWII veteran who served in Europe. He was in the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Central Germany and the Battle of the Ardennes. Made it out without a scratch when most of his compatriots did not.

I ordered this flag for our daughter as her husband is in Afghanistan serving with the air national guard. He left in April. They have a baby due in November 2011, which he will not be able to be there for the birth. We all must pray for our boys and girls in the military.

My Grandfather fought in WW11, My step dad served in the Army, My Father is currently in Afghanistan on an undisclosed mission. My brother in law and husband just returned from Iraq, and my husbands now 5th mission overseas. It is very difficult as a wife and for our 5 yr old daughter wondering if Grandpa and daddy are okay and when and if they are coming home soon. It can be a heart wrenching feeling just to watch the news. It is however the most endearing feeling knowing there are small contributions such as a flag out there that can be mailed for the families and members. What an awesome gesture you have achieved.
